Why healthy living matters? This is a question with many answers.

You know that eating well, regular exercising, and low consumption of alcohol and other harmful substances matters, but have you ever stopped to ask yourself why?

We all want to lead a healthy lifestyle, but it is usually a challenge since temptations are everywhere.

Lack of time for exercises, a rise in the number of fast food restaurants, and influence from friends are some of the challenges that many people face in trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

We understand that healthy habits are hard to develop. However, if you are willing to make a sacrifice for the sake of your well-being, we have some facts to convince you that healthy living matters.

Prevents Diseases

Adopting a healthy lifestyle has long-term health benefits, including combating certain health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and stroke.

In the short term, improving your lifestyle will increase your cardiovascular activity and help you avoid fatigue.

Eating well and regular exercising can also defend you against depression, stabilize your mood, and sharpen your memory.

It may not be easy to exercise regularly, avoid alcohol and other drugs, and minimize the intake of certain foods.

However, knowing that getting the diseases mentioned above will be a result of your current lifestyle may help you realize that healthy living matters.

Controls Weight

Eating right and regular exercising can also help you avoid excessive weight gain and is essential to reaching your weight-loss goals.

Lack of money and time may be your reason for not going to the gym, but the good news is that you can lose weight in a safe, inexpensive, and realistic fashion by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

With at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise every week – including swimming, cycling, jogging, or playing basketball – you will burn the calories you consume and cut your weight significantly. Choose the exercises you love and do them with enjoyment.

I’m a fitness enthusiast myself and can’t agree more with what you mentioned about healthy living. I took a challenge upon myself to stop sugar for 30 days in January, and although it was tough the first 7-10 days, after I shook off my sugar addiction, I felt amazing! I had more energy to spend in my workouts and I healed faster than usual. I substituted all my sugar cravings with fruits or dates, and after about two weeks I didn’t have any cravings at all!

Hi Imran.

It takes discipline to conquer any addiction, especially one that deals with sugar and you did it because you know ghow important it is to live a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy living as we all know it to be is what virtually everyone desires or wants to achieve but it is easier said than done because most of the time your find yourself going out of your food time table just because you wanna eat what’s available. Personally I have had to struggle with my eating healthy and exercise. As there was a time I took a routine exercise and I did that for few weeks before I begin to default. We can only keep trying and never give up on eating healthy.

The importance of living right can not be overstated. I believe it matters because maintaining a healthy lifestyle means you are at lower risk of catching an infection or illness. The positives of a living a healthy lifestyle is worth the effort in my opinion. Personally, I won’t be able to live with myself if my lifestyle causes me to develop a life threatening condition. Instead of paying high medical bills for treatment, it’s way better if we streamline our lifestyle, to fit our expectations.

Great article. I think healthy living matters matters a lot. I have tried to incorporate exercise into my daily routine. It has been quite challenging due to my busy schedule but I have seen and felt the benefits. I feel healthier than I have been in a long time and my wife about to take up exercising too.

Thank you kindly for the positive comment about healthy living.

Well said in the post. The great advantage of regular exercise and a good diet can never be overestimated. I always take cognizance into the longtime health risk like diabetes, heart disease and obesity which I really despise most. I always lay emphasis more on taking good diet and regular exercise. Which all these, I know I would be able to control my weight and my longevity

I am 100% in agreement with your post. Health is wealth because there is no point in being rich with lots of millions in your account and suffering from a terminal disease or bad health. I don’t eat fast foods or sugary drinks. Not because I am not tempted to drink but am just concerned about having a good life with a good health. I don’t smoke or take alcohol as well. I want to have a long life so I am paying the price of denying myself what could stop me from achieving that. Health is wealth. Thanks for this wonderful topic.

My friend,

WE are in agreement. This is excellent. Bottom line is a healthy lifestlye prevents many diseases and illnesses. The benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

Thank you foor stopping in with a positive comment

Have a wonderful day.

Thanks, Maxine, I like your post, you have said it all. Healthy living would never happen by accident, rather by following healthy lifestyles through healthy choice. There is a popular phrase ” you are what you eat”, and in the IT world, it is believed that garbage in is garbage out. Based on my personal experience, which your post also assert, exercising and avoiding junk food can improve one’s health, and can help cope with depression. We all need to show commitment to improving our health, and this starts by assessing our lifestyle choices.

Hi Maxine!

The great benefits of adopting a healthy life style, cannot be over emphasized.

It is common sense that, one can’t eat their cake and have it, so, one should be ready to face the consequences of food indulgences and lack of exercising.

There’s a saying that, prevention is better than cure. So, it’s best to subscribe to a healthy lifestyle and avoid consistent dates with the doctor.

Instead of spending much time with the doctor, a healthy lifestyle will afford us the luxury of spending more time with our loved ones. Your post is a healthy reminder of these facts.

Hi Georges,

This was really a nice time reading your article. I am also agreed with your thoughts too> Yes, I believe that healthy lifestyle is very essential for leading a happy, healthy and peaceful life. We can get rid of many diseases through healthy living. Longevity is the main benefit of Healthy Living which inspires me a lot to adopt the lifestyle.

I found your post very helpful. I am going to share your post with my friends and family members.

Thanks for such a nice post. 🙂

Wow, thank you for the article it was a nice one like you said it all already starting from the point you made by saying We all want to leave a healthy lifestyle, but it is usually a challenge since temptations are everywhere. Lack of time for exercises, a rise in the number of fast food restaurants, and influence from friends are some of the challenges that many people face in trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

Apart from cardiovascular activities, living a healthy life style also improves our defence against diseases. Our immune system banks on our lifestyle for fortification. Many a times we contact picky diseases not because they are all so contagious or strong but because at that moment our immune system was suffering probably a bit or much. Improving our lifestyle as regards Health would definitely help us fight against diseases

Thank you kindly for stopping in to leave a comment, much appreciated.
